Application process

Our application process is personal, fair, honest, and clearly structured; we get to know you and you get to know us. Because we want you to feel at home with us and be able to fully develop your potential for the Kontora team, we place great importance on cultural fit. The exact structure and length of the application process may vary depending on the role and team.

1. Your application with us

If you’ve found a suitable position with us—or would like to submit a speculative application—we look forward to receiving your application documents, which you can upload via our application portal.

2. Review of your application documents

Once we’ve received your application, we take the time to review it carefully. We aim to get back to you within one week.

3. Initial interview: online (in English)

The initial interview takes place via video call with a member of our global HR team in London and is conducted in English. In this approximately 30-minute conversation, the focus is on getting to know each other.

4. Second interview: online (in German)

If you’ve convinced us—and we’ve convinced you as an employer—during the initial interview, we’ll invite you to an approximately one-hour video call with the relevant team lead.

5. meet x work: Prien House

If the second interview has also gone well for both sides, we’ll invite you to a meet x work session at our Prien House at Jungfernstieg. This appointment lasts around three hours so that you and the team have enough time to get to know each other.

6. Hiring and onboarding

If everything is a good fit, we’ll be delighted to welcome you to Kontora! Our onboarding program makes it easier for you to get started, and we aim for you to feel comfortable from minute one and to become familiar with Kontora quickly. This includes, among other things, role-specific onboarding with your team, a buddy program, our feedback format “What’s up, Newbies?”, and our rotation plan to give you insights into the work of all teams.

What does our client advisory team do?

Our client advisory team understands people and wealth. From strategy through execution, they advise our clients holistically and individually.

What is our wealth controlling team responsible for?

Controlling, reporting, and support. Our wealth controllers are responsible for the ongoing monitoring of clients’ assets, know all reporting metrics in detail, and support with wealth administration.

What areas does our Investment Management team work in?

Our investment managers use their asset-class-specific expertise and international network to identify outstanding investment opportunities in line with our clients’ interests and based on investment strategies and portfolio analyses—then assess them in a standardized, rigorous way and onboard them. Expertise across all asset classes also feeds into our clients’ strategic advisory work.

What is our Fund Management team responsible for?

Our Fund Management team enables our clients to access outstanding investments worldwide, including through tailored investment vehicles. Throughout the entire life cycle of an investment, Fund Management is responsible for ongoing administration under regulatory supervision—always representing our clients’ interests.

What is the scope of our Portfolio Management team?

Our Portfolio Management team ensures disciplined portfolio construction, robust portfolio management, efficient administration, and tailored governance structures. To achieve this, our portfolio managers advise clients on suitable investment structures and implement them professionally.

What is Asset Management about?

Our asset managers represent our clients’ interests in ongoing real estate investments and direct holdings. To do so, they manage the investments closely and holistically, coordinate project partners and service providers effectively, provide regular reporting, give strategic recommendations for action, and execute them.

What does our Investment Accounting & Reporting team do?

Our Investment Accounting & Reporting team records, reviews, and analyzes all of our clients’ assets across different asset classes in order to map their total wealth.

What is our Investment Monitoring team responsible for?

Our managers in the Investment Monitoring team review whether investments are progressing as planned, analyze their performance, and summarize this in the form of monitoring reports.

What is our Financial Accounting team’s role?

A deep dive into the world of numbers. Our experts are responsible for the financial accounting of our client entities as well as that of Kontora Family Office GmbH and Kontora Kapitalverwaltungs GmbH.
